Hsu & Associates LLC Attorney ProfilesVivian HsuVivian Hsu is a principal with Hsu & Associates LLC, a law firm specializing in employment law counseling, training and mediation services. Vivian provides advice to clients on matters relating to workplace issues and the employment relationship, with an emphasis on preventative practices and dispute resolution. She develops and conducts training programs for managers, supervisors, human resource professionals and employees on employment law topics, conducts workplace investigations as an independent fact finder, provides mediation services for employment disputes and serves as a facilitator for business and community groups. Vivian is a member of the faculty for the Certified Discrimination Prevention Training Program of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, having completed all modules on discrimination, diversity, disability accommodation, sexual harassment, and internal investigations. She has also served on the American Arbitration Association panel of mediators for complaints before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. The firm’s clients have included a variety of national and regional employers in diverse fields such as financial services, higher education, internet consulting, advertising, retail, high technology, environmental services, manufacturing, and non-profit institutions. Vivian also provides advice and counsel to senior executives with respect to the negotiation and review of employment-related agreements. Prior to entering private practice in 1995, Vivian served as Division Counsel with Motorola, Inc., providing legal advice and training to managers and human resource professionals. Her experience also includes several years with the WGBH Educational Foundation. She is a frequent speaker for courses and programs on employment law topics. A graduate of Smith College and Suffolk University School of Law, Vivian is active in professional and community organizations. She serves on the Personnel Board for the Town of Needham, having served as Vice-Chair. She is a member of the Board of Directors and a Past President of the NAPABA Law Foundation, an affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, having also held positions on NAPABA’s Executive Board and is Co-Chair of the NAPABA Leadership Advisory Council. Vivian is currently a facilitator in the Boston City-Wide Dialogues Project on Racial and Ethnic Diversity and is a Co-Chair for the Business Women’s Breakfast for the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence. Vivian has served on the Board of Directors of the Community Dispute Settlement Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts and is an active member of the Women’s Business Network, having served as Chair. She has been the Education Chair and a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and a Committee Leader of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Boston Bar Association.
